Stable Ground

Morts A couple years after the demos and the band have mellowed their metal tendencies to alt hard rock and dropped the death growls altogether. They now resemble, nay, mirror early Paramore in their sound to the point of being almost indistinguishable from them. Not necessarily a bad thing (early Paramore is far from being the worst thing you could sound like), but I'd have personally preferred to hear them stay the metal course they'd originally started on. Favorite track: From Our Eyes.

Don’t you hate me; I’m the one who hates you Just back up cus everyone can see you now We know just what you are This time it’s not a game I know I wont be the one to blame It’s gone to far This has to break apart Please leave this now and don’t look down If you see this from our eyes You’ll know the truth will fall in line And now I wonder can this be true Can you make it through? I pray you’ll run for your life And never think twice Don’t you trust me? I’m the one that knows you Throw your lies behind you They’ll find you Because that’s all that you are There’s no compromise to your demise You can’t hide your ties, your filthy disguise This can’t go on, you’ve known this from the start We’re worlds apart, you know this in your heart If you see this from our eyes You’ll know the truth will fall in line And now I wonder can this be true Can you make it through? I pray you’ll run for your life And never think twice This time we’ll see right through you I’m not the one you fooled You can’t get me to apologize for how I feel inside It’s not right It’s not right now If you see this from our eyes You’ll know the truth will fall in line And now I wonder can this be true Can you make it through? I pray you’ll run for your life And never think twice

On The Verge 03:14
So begins my state of brokenness and I cant stay here long Tried my best to keep my mind from all these selfish wicked thoughts You offered me your hand but truthfully I think you’ve done enough Isn’t there any stable ground cus recovery has just been rough So let me explain my latest hell Is it just how I thought it would be I need more heartlessness to have the perfect mix The denial and the disrespect I’ve seen I’m on the verge of a breakdown It’s all I can do not to let it go Stuck in a free-fall and I cant see the end Of my darkest place Left to fend for myself Where has the light of my life gone? Seemed so simple for you Tell me was I really all that good Saw a lot of selfishness from you While I did all I could All the plans to keep this going Had almost no effect And the empty reassurances Seemed to take me over the edge Again and again I tried to move on But it seemed like there’s no place to go Keep running in circles in my search for answers And it seems as if I’ll never really know I’m on the verge of a breakdown It’s all I can do not to let it go Stuck in a free-fall and I cant see the end Of my darkest place Left to fend for myself Where has the light of my life gone? I would stand on the steps With a hole in my chest Hoping you could see That you’re breaking my heart So please play your part And rescue me I could never let go of this love I have found Tell me why does it have to go I’m on the verge of a breakdown It’s all I can do not to let it go Stuck in a free-fall and I cant see the end Of my darkest place Left to fend for myself Where has the light of my life gone?

Never Forget 03:37
Never let them try to fix you When you know that you’re not broken Theres nothing wrong with being the misfit In this plain existence So go out get your hopes up Style like yours is so unheard of Someday you’ll figure out We’re not all the same thankfully Don’t you ever forget that we are not alone Our friends are by our side wherever we may go And nobody can shake us together we are strong Even if they try they’ll find that we’ve already won Nobody sees the world like you It’s a gift that you were born with And you’re the only person Who can choose to use it And I don’t think I’ll ever know What it’s like with all that talent How do I look through those Rose colored glasses Don’t you ever forget that we are not alone Our friends are by our side wherever we may go And nobody can shake us together we are strong Even if they try they’ll find that we’ve already won

Faces 04:40
We all look the same I’m noticing I’m looking but I can’t remember Walking around this place like a room full of mirrors They just seem to go on forever Why did we become these invisible clones? We all just want to feel at home I watch the people walk by As I sit and I try to figure out Which one of these faces am I? What would our lives become if we didn’t cling to the norms? Our lives could be so much more Here we stand now I’m pacing Retracing where we went wrong And why do we feel that difference is a crime? I need the change to feel alive Why did we become these invisible clones? We all just want to feel at home I watch the people walk by As I sit and I try to figure out Which one of these faces am I? What would our lives become if we didn’t cling to the norms? Our lives could be so much more When did we become these invisible clones? We all just want to feel at home I watch the people walk by As I sit and I try to figure out Which one of these faces am I? What would our lives become if we didn’t cling to the norms? Our lives could be so much more

Honesty 03:52
You’re making me run for the door I can’t be who you want me to be anymore I’m done treading carefully I’ve only got enough time for honesty You’re trying to lead me like a puppet on a string I won’t surrender If I lose my honor I could lose myself I know my lines I just try to ignore them I’d rather be judged for who I am You’re making me run for the door I can’t be who you want me to be anymore I’m done treading carefully I’ve only got enough time for honesty Someone told me You’ll never get anywhere By just being you If you want to make it Change everything that you do Just look out your window The truth is there I can see it now it’s always been so clear You’re making me run for the door I can’t be who you want me to be anymore I’m done treading carefully I’ve only got enough time for honesty You’ll know in your heart What’s not real and what to feel I know, I know what I should feel You’re making me run for the door I can’t be who you want me to be anymore I’m done treading carefully I’ve only got enough time for honesty
